What these terms cover
These terms apply to the use of studio.qognis.ai and to every engagement between Qognis BV and a client. Qognis BV is registered in Belgium under enterprise number BE 1036.732.337 and is based in Gent (Ghent). Questions about these terms go to studio@qognis.ai.
Engagements and scope
Every engagement is fixed-scope. Before any work starts, we agree the scope in writing. That written scope defines what we deliver and what we do not. If something is not in the written scope, it is not part of the engagement. This protects both sides: you know what you will get, and we know what we will build.
Scope changes
Scope can change, but only in writing. Any change to scope is written down and approved by both sides before any additional cost arises. We do not begin extra work on an informal request, and we do not send surprise invoices.
Payment
Payment is split in two parts:
- 50% before work starts.
- 50% on delivery.
The fee is fixed and agreed together with the written scope, before the engagement begins.
Intellectual property and source code
On full payment, the intellectual property and the source code for the delivered work transfer to the client. Until full payment, they remain with Qognis BV.
The Ethics Charter
The Qognis Ethics Charter, published at studio.qognis.ai/charter, is incorporated by reference into every agreement we sign. It is a contractual part of the engagement, not a marketing page. Its rules bind us for the full duration of the work.
Governing law
These terms and every engagement are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute we cannot resolve together goes to the courts of Ghent, Belgium.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we publish the new version here and update the date at the top of this page. The version in force when we sign an agreement is the version that applies to that agreement.
